What is an Exempt Well?
A domestic or livestock well that is incapable of producing more than 25,000 gallons of groundwater a day (~17.5 gpm) is considered to be an exempt well. These wells are exempt from permitting, but still MUST be registered with the District. The District does not meter exempt wells.
If you have recently purchased property that has an existing water well on it, and have questions about groundwater, give us a call at 830-379-5969. We're happy to assist you in locating driller's logs or records for your well.
